Maximo for Mobile Solutions

Maximo Mobile Work Manager

Maximo Mobile Work Manager Functionality:

  • Electronically send and receive information on work orders, rounds, and time and attendance
  • Create new work orders on demand from the field
  • Access equipment repair history, job plans and parts lists
  • Record parts used, labor, failure codes, work order status, and even add comments
  • Transfer work orders across trades and shifts
  • Perform condition monitoring, readings and rounds
  • Benefit from zero administration – no batch files to manage
  • Deploy flexible communication methods – docking cradle, wireless and dial-up
  • Capture accurate daily time and attendance data for payroll reporting

When fully enabled, technicians will have ready access to work order information, job plan details, and safety guidelines to locate spare parts, and to capture failure codes and start/stop times.

Maximo Mobile Work Manager Architecture:
The Mobile Server constantly monitors the Maximo database for changes affecting field staff.  When it identifies a change (such as a new work assignment or change in an existing work order) it creates an “update” message for the technician and stores it for delivery during the next communication session.

By talking to the Mobile Server (instead of directly to Maximo), handheld units can have a brief communication session, simply picking up waiting messages and transmitting pending updates.  After receiving updates from the field, the Mobile Server posts transactions to the Maximo database.

Handheld units talk to the Mobile Server, which in turn, talks to the Maximo database.
