- General management and coordination
- Post go-live support
System Planning and Design
Maximo technology changed dramatically for the web-architected version of Maximo 6.x. So, TRM brings system engineers to work with our clients’ IT staff to identify the hardware specifications required to host a Maximo 6 implementation. If necessary, TRM can provide system-monitoring tools and assist the installation of additional hardware, as needed.
Set-up of Test Migration Environment
TRM consultants will typically create a test instance at both the clients environment and TRM’s locations. This includes making any copies of existing instances and databases, and installing of required Maximo 6 components (applications, database, reporting server).
Conduct Migration on Test Environment
Migration is always conducted in a test environment. During this phase TRM will work out any issues and will create scripts that are re-usable during the final migration phase. Much of the work completed in this phase will be applied to the production environment.
This upgrade path consists of the following steps:
- Migrate the database/data from Maximo 4.1.1 or 5.x to Maximo 6
- Migrate Screen Configurations to Maximo 6 – IBM does not currently provide a screen migration tool, therefore all custom screen changes need to be re-created in Maximo 6. TRM expertise with the Maximo 6 Application Designer tool and customizing the presenation layer enable us to quickly and efficiently configure your new version of Maximo.
- Maximo custom applications, custom features and interfaces – TRM consultants update and/or re-create customizations that are required for a successful upgrade to Maximo 6.
- Maximo Reports – TRM consultants update existing Maximo reports to be compatible with the Maximo 6 implementation. TRM will make all changes necessary to comply with the updated database fields and structure.
