Maximo for Asset Hierarchy DevelopmentTRM consultants know that when Maximo is configured correctly, it can deliver better (more management details, logically connected, and with relevant details needed to conduct asset management analysis) information than you can get from even financial systems. TRM’s Asset Hierarchy Development service provides a new look at your asset base. We can quickly develop logical and easy-to-use asset hierarchies for business managers, maintenance and reliability engineers, planners, trades, operators and other technical resources. TRM’s Asset Hierarchy Philosophy
TRM consultants will first help your organization define what is an asset. Things to consider would include: criticality, life cycle tracking, cost, repair/maintenance plan, spare parts, vendor involvement. TRM consultants develop asset hierarchies in Maximo with a top-down approach, with a view always to the reporting data that will be needed to make decisions. An asset has a physical location and a mission. In many cases the location hierarchy reflects the design intent of the overall set of systems and sub-systems. Operating data can be aligned to the location for trending and comparison purposes. Users enter the location hierarchy and navigate through it to locate equipment and then to create work orders. A LOCATION is created to represent a functional alignment of the assets in a tiered – tree format. If a specific asset has sub-assemblies that are attached (that come off physically with it if the asset is removed), then another hierarchy called the EQUIPMENT hierarchy can be created and integrated with the baseline LOCATION HIERARCHY. The sub-components should rise to the asset definition level (Example: A turbine and its sub-components would be a “modeled view” in an equipment hierarchy. The top level of the equipment can be thought of as the parent and the sub-assemblies can be thought of as the children.) We have years of experience developing these hierarchies in the most asset-intensive organizations and can help you configure Maximo to support your organizations assets and reporting needs. |
